So Thankful!!!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year.  So much to be thankful for and such great family to share it with.  Nick's parents hosted both their boys and their families for the big day.

We went for a pre nap romp at the park to get ready for the big meal:

Even Truck approved of the menu!

Nick and his mom share 11/25 as their birthday so last night we ventured to a YUMMY Italian restaurant in Sandy (Trattoria) to celebrate:

Hope your day was wonderful as well! I have other pics that are not loading properly right now so maybe I will post others later.

Yurting!

This week I was able to take some time off and we headed off on a London adventure to the BEACH! We reserved a yurt at Cape Lookout State Park. Here was G raring to go:

And 10 minutes later:

We took Nick's Dad's truck so that we would not run the risk of any mechanical troubles. Well that worked out well......Luckily I brought my mechanic!

This was in the tire! Not sure what it was but it did render the tire unusable. We will be purchasing a new spare soon.

Gunnar LOVED the beach and wanted to stay there forever! His favorite thing was to run from the waves. Step one - watch for the wave:

Then RUN!!!!

Exploring was very fun. We hoped to find some tsunami debris but no such luck. Did find some crazy tube worms? washed up that we need to google.

The boys on the beach:

Truck was very invigorated by all that sea air. He was tearing up and down the beach like a puppy!

It was getting dark and cold when we FINALLY convinced Gunnar there may be other fun things to do besides the beach. The yurt! We did puzzles:

Read before bed:

Made sure all the lumps were out of Daddy's sleeping bag:

Spied from the top bunk:

The next day we hit up the beach again, cruised through the crabbing town of Neetarts and then had lunch at the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

The trip was short but a ton of fun! Of course now I am totally spoiled and only want to yurt!

Just a little off the sides

I will say it again, Daddies are the most fun in the whole world!  Look what G and Daddy did one wet afternoon this week:

Not quite sure what is more impressive, G cutting Daddy's hair or Daddy managing to take these pics!

Tons of Treats

Halloween was super fun this year with Gunnar. We had one minor costume breakdown requiring alteration but once he figured it out he had a blast. We figured we would trick or treat in Gigi and Pop Pop's neighborhood since they actually have neighbors. Before heading to "town" Nick and G hit up the neighbors on my tractor. He got in some great "trick or treat practice" and some serious loot as well.

Animal Inventory

TWe were down to just the three pet chickens and the ducks until Nick's friend called and now now the ducks are gone too.  Nick's friend's dad has some acreage with a little duck haven on it and he was looking for more ducks so we volunteered ours.  Before they left Nick did manage to get them over to our small pond for a little fun:

Then as if the universe knew, a kitten shows up needing a home. Our last cat was a huricane Katrina rescue so it seemed only fitting that hurricane Sandy should bring us a replacement, meet Sandy:

She is 6 weeks old by the vet's guesstimate and a little spit fire! Gunnar is in heaven!

Pumpkin Patch or Bust

G and I decided that come rain and high mud puddles we were going to make it to the pumpkin patch this year.  And we did!  Gunnar loved that all the mud gave his new winter boots a great test drive and despite the quick trip we had a lot of fun.

There weren't many people on the hayride so the drive let us off to pick flowers:

 Little Pumpkins!
We even did the pony ride.  G thinks we need to get one!
